Is the 8 % barrier for coalitions rejected by the Bulgarian Constitutional Court?
Adelina Marini, 12 May 2009
Members of the Bulgarian parliament reported that the Constitutional court has rejected the 8 % barrier, introduced earlier for coalitions thus preventing coalitions to enter the Parliament if they have less than 8 % of the votes. But the court neither confirmed nor denied the information saying that the session of the magistrates is still going on and the ruling is still not signed. It is expected that there will be a ruling by the end of the day.
