Cause and Effect in European Politics and Law

Finally a research that will show administrative burdens on doing business in Bulgaria

Adelina Marini, 15 July 2009

The first for Bulgaria research that measures the local conditions for doing business will be presented today by the Institute for Market Economy. The Institute has developed its own methodology, which would probably be uncovered today, and will also present an opinion poll and a list of the big cities. The research has been done between January and May 2009 and has focused on the administrative burdens, imposed on business, like:

1) local taxation;

2) licensing on local level;

3) administrative services on local level;

4) corruption in local authorities.

This will be the first ever opportunity for an independent estimation of local burdens. So far only the state through the Ministry of state administration has been conducting such a policy to reduce administrative burdens on local level.
