Bulgarian cultural toursim?

Ladislav Tsvetkov, June 29, 2010

These are pictures taken at the village of Karanovo, near the Bulgarian town of Nova Zagora - a site of archaeological excavations. Aside from golden and silver Thracian treasures, a lot of Thracian chariots have also been uncovered. A serious problem for the excavation and preservation of these national historical treasures is the lack of funding. For the first time a private bank financed the largest part of the excavation work in Karanovo and the preservation efforts. The Bulgarian government hopes that this initiative won't be the last because it cannot be expected the national budget to deal with everything. Besides, public private partnership could pay back via cultural tourism.
